Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information DriveDesk handles when students, instructors and school administrators use the app and administration website.

Last updated: 2 October 2026

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to DriveDesk users, including learner drivers, instructors and authorised school administrators. The driving school providing your account is responsible for its use of your information within DriveDesk.

2. Information we collect

We collect information needed to provide the service, including:

  • Account details such as your name, email address, phone number and user role.
  • Lesson information such as booking dates, times, pickup details, assigned instructor, status and payment method.
  • Learning records such as skill ratings, instructor notes, driving goals, progress and AI-generated practice plans.
  • Purchase records such as the package selected, amount paid, lesson credits and payment status. DriveDesk does not receive or store your full card number.
  • Technical information needed for security and operation, which may include device, browser, sign-in and error information.
  • Notification permission and scheduled lesson reminder information held on your device.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Create and secure accounts.
  • Schedule, manage and record driving lessons.
  • Show progress, credits and lesson history across devices.
  • Generate a focused practice plan from ratings and goals supplied by the student.
  • Process package purchases and confirm successful payments.
  • Send or schedule lesson reminders requested by the user.
  • Prevent misuse, investigate problems and improve reliability.

4. AI-generated practice plans

When a student requests a practice plan, the selected ratings and driving goal are sent securely through our AI service to generate the plan. Do not include sensitive personal information in a driving goal. AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate and does not replace instruction from a qualified driving instructor.

5. Payments

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe receives the payment details needed to complete the transaction and handles them under its own privacy policy. DriveDesk receives transaction confirmation and limited payment information so it can add lesson credits and prevent duplicate fulfilment.

6. When information is shared

Information is shared only where necessary to run DriveDesk:

  • With the student's driving school, assigned instructors and authorised administrators.
  • With service providers that host data, process payments, deliver authentication, generate AI plans or support app operation.
  • When required by law, or to protect users, the service or legal rights.

We do not sell personal information.

7. Storage, security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We keep information while an account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes and prevent fraud. Data that is no longer required is deleted or anonymised.

8. Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to certain uses where local law provides that right. You can control notification permission in your device settings. To make a privacy request or delete an account, contact the driving school that provided your DriveDesk account or your DriveDesk school administrator. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

9. Children and learner drivers

DriveDesk is intended for learner drivers aged 16 or older and the instructors and administrators who support them. Where consent from a parent or guardian is required by local law, the driving school must obtain it before the learner uses DriveDesk.

10. International processing

Service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as DriveDesk or applicable law changes. The latest version will always appear on this page with its revision date. For questions or requests, contact the driving school that issued your account or your DriveDesk school administrator.
